Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE) in Gig Harbor, WA seeks an Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for day shift. You will practice at the top of your license in a fast-paced ER, collaborating with ER doctors and a skilled team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to critically ill animals.

We offer day and swing shifts, weekend availability, and a pay range of $30–$38/hour with potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential required.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience, ER or specialty preferred.
• Strong technical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced technical skills including IV catheter placement, blood draws, anesthesia monitoring, and patient stabilization.
• Triage ER patients and assist in prioritizing care based on urgency.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and treatments with precision.
• Support emergency procedures and diagnostics with confidence.
• Provide clear, compassionate client communication during high-stress moments.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with ER and specialty team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Take initiative in workflow and patient advocacy.
