Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a skilled clinical laboratory professional to perform, verify, and report results for routine and complex tests in a STAT emergency department setting. You will support instrument evaluation, quality control, and education activities as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory or related field with a NAACLS-accredited internship, and certification within 13 months of hire. BLS may be required based on patient care duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory or related field with NAACLS-accredited internship.
• ASCP or AMT certification must be obtained within 13 months from hire.
• BLS certification may be required within 30 days depending on patient care performed.

Responsibilities

• Perform, verify accuracy and report results of routine and complex laboratory procedures.
• Assist supervisor with evaluating new instruments and methods, QC information, troubleshooting.
• Assist team lead with apheresis procedures, bone marrows, and educational sessions.
