Job summary

Novant Health is expanding emergency services with a new Clements Ferry Emergency Department, a freestanding, state-of-the-art facility providing 24/7 emergency care for the Daniel Island and greater Charleston communities. The Laboratory role supports analytical testing, QC, and LIS documentation in a fast-paced ED environment.

This PRN night position emphasizes strong clinical judgment, independent work, and teamwork to ensure patient safety and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology required.
• MLS certification (or eligible) through ASCP or AMT; certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Ongoing maintenance of certification required.
• One year of laboratory experience preferred; clinical internship of 12 months meets this requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of patient specimens
• Conduct quality control and equipment maintenance
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues
• Maintain accurate documentation and utilize LIS systems
• Ensure regulatory compliance and inspection readiness
• Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff
