Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks a critical role in grid reliability and outage management. You will monitor and manage outage events, coordinate field resources, and ensure real-time information is captured to support fast restoration at the feeder level and below.

Working with the Grid Management team, you will model OMS/DMS, issue safety tags, and support 24/7 operations. A strong test for SOPD II is required for consideration.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Direct outage dispatching for feeder level outages and below and assist with substation outages. Review outage information and dispatch resources to restore power; update OMS/DMS models.
  • Authorize, record and model in OMS/DMS: HLTs, Clearance tags, DNO tags, Information tags; supervise switching activities for accurate distribution model.
  • Monitor DSCADA and DMS systems, remotely operate breakers, reclosers, and regulators; assess alarms and coordinate appropriate response.
  • Assist in directing restoration for large outages and develop emergency switching orders to isolate faults and restore power.
