GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Emergency General Surgery Verification Program (EGS-VP), including organizing services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to care of the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) patient. Collaborates and communicates with physicians, clinical staff, and departments to coordinate EGS services and maintain continuity of care. Plans and oversees education for staff, physicians, and the community as needed. Abstracts data on qualifying EGS-VP registry patients as defined within the accreditation manual. Represents the EGS program on various hospital and community committees.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be licensed in Idaho as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing. Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire. Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's preferred. At least 5 years of inpatient nursing experience in Emergency, Operating Room, Med Surg, or Critical Care. Surgical Critical Care/Stepdown experience highly preferred.
