Job summary

University of California, Irvine (UCI Health) seeks a fulltime board certified/board eligible surgeon with emergency general surgery expertise. Primary duties include covering emergency cases and building an elective practice across UCI Health community sites within the SCA network.

The ideal candidate will lead, grow a practice, and foster collegial relationships with community physicians and other providers, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• M.D., D.O., MBBS, or equivalent degree.
• Fellowship completed.
• Eligible for California licensure.
• Experience in emergency general surgical care.
• Experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
• Leadership and ability to motivate and collaborate with faculty, residents and staff.
• Compliance with UC policies and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Cover emergency general surgery and develop an elective surgical practice at UCI Health community sites.
• Grow a practice and foster relationships with community physicians and other providers.
• Collaborate with the SCA network to coordinate care across sites.
