Job summary

Ascent Emergency Medical Center in Houston is seeking a Part-Time Patient Services Rep to cover Sunday 12-hour night shifts. The PSR greets patients, collects demographics, insurance and payment information, verifies eligibility, maintains accurate logs, handles billing questions, and routes calls to the correct department with courtesy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year front desk experience in a medical or clinical setting.
• High school diploma or GED. CPR certification required.
• Experience verifying patient insurance information and collecting payments.
• Basic computer skills and ability to type accurately and efficiently.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Record demographics, insurance and financial information into registration software with accuracy.
• Answer calls and route to appropriate department.
• Collect co-payments and other payments; maintain till and logs.
• Represent the center at marketing functions and ensure HIPAA compliance.
