Job summary

The City of New York invites applications for two Community Coordinators to function as EFAP Coordinators within the Department of Social Services. You will oversee food distribution programs, monitor SNAP outreach efforts, and supervise staff across multiple NYC food distribution sites.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with related experience or an equivalent combination, plus strong communication and analytical skills to manage schedules and ensure program compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of community work experience.
• Or a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience.
• Education/experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above with at least one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and funding to approximately 600 emergency food programs.
• Facilitate and monitor SNAP outreach across the emergency food network.
• Monitor and manage SNAP outreach services by contracted vendors and promote benefits.
• Supervise EFAP Community Associates responsible for monitoring and evaluating food pantries and kitchens.
• Offer supervision and technical assistance to staff; monitor schedules and site visits for compliance.
• Represent EFAP at community meetings and prepare surveys, evaluations, and reports detailing NYC emergency food activity.
