Job summary

The University Police Department, Southern Command invites applications for a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator (Part-Time / Temporary). This civilian position is around 20 hours per week (capped at 1,000 hours per fiscal year; schedule set by operational demand).

This role reports to the Lieutenant overseeing Fleet and has no supervisory responsibility. Responsibilities include scheduling preventative maintenance, fleet inspections, vendor liaison, record keeping, and coordination of emergency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Nevada Driver’s License or out-of-state license with ability to obtain Nevada license.
• 1–2 years in fleet administration, maintenance coordination or logistics.
• Background check, drug screen, polygraph and fingerprinting per law enforcement requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate routine preventative maintenance for all Department vehicles and equipment.
• Perform fleet inspections for damage, wear, lights and emergency equipment.
• Coordinate with internal and external repair facilities and vendors.
• Maintain maintenance logs, service histories and work orders.
• Coordinate installation and removal of specialized police equipment.
• Assist in rapid vehicle replacements during emergencies and repairs.
• Monitor inventory of spare parts, keys and emergency kits.
