Job summary

Seminole County is seeking an Emergency Communications Dispatcher to handle 9-1-1 and radio calls, dispatch Fire/Rescue units, and provide lifesaving instructions. You will work in a high-stress environment, maintain detailed logs, and coordinate with staff and partner agencies.

Position requires typing, multitasking, and strong communication skills. Training paths include Trainee to Dispatcher IV with state certifications within a year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass ECOMM testing standards and typing test.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls via 9-1-1 system and Motorola radio.
• Provide lifesaving instructions and dispatch Fire/Rescue units.
• Maintain logs of transmissions and coordinate with agencies.
• Operate CAD and related dispatch software.
• Know county geography and locations to assign units efficiently.
