Job summary

Baylor University Police Department seeks a Dispatcher to answer calls, dispatch police, fire, and medical services, and relay critical information to responders. Training is provided after completion of Baylor PD Communication Center program.

The role requires excellent communication, the ability to multitask, and composure under pressure in a busy campus safety environment at Baylor University in Waco, TX. A full benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old at appointment.
• One year of clerical/computer experience; two years preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Within one year, complete TCOLE training and pass licensing; telecommunicator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate resources.
• Relay information concisely to law enforcement and safety personnel.
• Monitor radio channels and provide immediate information to responders.
• Enter call information into the CAD records management system.
• Maintain data in databases and ensure compliance with policies.
