Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Mid Atlantic Dispatch Assistant Center Manager to coordinate resources and personnel for wildland fire and emergency incidents from its Harrisburg area center. The role emphasizes interagency collaboration and operational readiness across multijurisdictional partners.

Responsibilities include dispatch coordination, resource management, aviation oversight, program administration, and leadership support.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Emergency Management Trainee program or an equivalent combination of experience and training in emergency management is required.
• Two years of professional experience coordinating emergency management programs or related activities with a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of personnel, equipment, and aircraft during wildland fire and emergencies.
• Evaluate operational needs and arrange staffing, machinery, and resources for response activities.
• Schedule aircraft operations and coordinate transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with developing plans, procedures, schedules, and administrative processes for the dispatch center.
• Maintain working relationships with local, state, federal, and cooperating agencies to support incident response.
• Serve as acting center manager when needed and provide updates and operational guidance.
