Job summary

TJ Fallon Transport INC is seeking a Dispatcher/Call Taker to support the ambulance transportation operations. This non-supervisory role reports to the Operations Manager and may receive direction from the CEO and other supervisors.

The position involves handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching units, and maintaining records with a focus on honesty, accountability, and independent work. Ideal candidates will manage high workloads calmly, exercise sound judgment, and be available

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform the essential functions.
• Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification is preferred.
• Ability to complete TJ Fallon orientation and training.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls from facilities, the public, or public safety entities and determine appropriate response and priority.
• Dispatch units based on acuity, availability, and location; maintain radio contact with field units.
• Prioritize requests for non-emergency transports and coordinate resources.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents including addresses, times, type of response, unit number, EMT names, patient name, and disposition.
• Monitor field units’ status and coordinate activities across units.
• Operate communications equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems; use multiple programs.
• Communicate with public safety agencies, hospitals, and support services as needed.
• Send, receive, enter, update, and disseminate information by various methods.
• Learn locations, geography, and operate dispatch equipment.
