RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center seeks a Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department night shift. Location: 355 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Status: Full-Time, hourly pay around $17.78.

This role supports nursing staff and patients by coordinating information and orders in the EMR. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, answering calls, coordinating admissions/transfers/discharges, entering physician orders, and maintaining unit documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with clerical or customer service experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, multitasking and computer skills.
• Previous unit secretary/clerical hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, and physicians with exceptional service.
• Answer calls, take messages, and route to appropriate team.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges; update patient records.
• Enter physician orders and maintain EMR documentation.
• Maintain unit documentation and supplies.
• Support nursing station operations and interdepartmental workflows.
