Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH, is seeking an Emergency Department Unit Coordinator to support patient records, orders, and transfer center coordination under supervision of nursing leadership.

The role requires a High School diploma, English proficiency, and knowledge of medical terminology; six months healthcare experience preferred. You will greet patients, process orders, and maintain accurate data while collaborating with nursing staff.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse. The Unit Coordinator's primary job function is to perform clerical duties associated with preparing, compiling, and maintaining patients' records in the Emergency Department. Coordinates functions for the Transfer Center. May be required to work on other nursing units. Supports each strategic value by providing exceptional care to those we serve. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required
• Working knowledge of medical terminology required

Licensure:

• None

Experience:

• Six months of healthcare related experience preferred.
