Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Unit Clerk for the Emergency Department. You will provide clerical support to nursing staff, maintain medical records, handle phone communications and assist with patient flow.

Responsibilities include chart preparation for admissions, processing lab results, and coordinating communications with the Nurse Manager. High school diploma required; flexible schedule with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/Equivalent is required.
• Clerical and administrative capabilities needed.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients and physicians and direct them appropriately.
• Answers the telephone, takes messages and delivers to appropriate staff.
• Maintains communication resources (on-call schedule, MD numbers, beeper numbers).
• Prepares charts for new admissions and ensures forms are in the chart.
• Places lab results and other documentation in the patient chart.
