UW Health in Madison seeks an Emergency Department Technician for a part-time, 90% FTE evening/night shift. Shifts are 8 or 12 hours, with an every-other-weekend rotation, and hours may vary based on department needs.

You will provide compassionate care to ED patients, assist with blood draws, IVs, and catheter placement, operate with advanced ED equipment, and document in the EMR while coordinating with clinicians and families.

Qualifikationen

• EMT-Basic certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• National Registry or Wisconsin AEMT/EMT-Paramedic license preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Relevant Emergency Department/EMS experience preferred.

We Are Seeking An Emergency Department (ED) Technician To

• Provide compassionate care to patients as they receive treatment in the Emergency Room.
• Be one of the first people a patient interacts with and assist with taking blood samples and getting IVs and catheters started.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment.
• Communicate directly with providers, nurses, patients, patient's families, and other caregivers regarding care for patients.
• Record information in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Respond to pages/codes and assist as directed.
• Act as an observer for behavior health complaints.

Emergency Technicians at UW Health

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT-Basic Required
• Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program Preferred

Work Experience

• Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities to include EMS Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• EMT - Basic license or National Registry of EMT Required
• CPR/BLS certification Required
• National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license Preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification Preferred
