Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an ED Tech/Unit Coordinator at Medical Center Southwest in Louisville, KY. This PRN role supports the Emergency Department under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing clinical care, patient transport, specimen collection, EKGs, and basic wound care while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include recording vitals, assisting with admissions and discharges, transcribing orders, and supporting the care team with therapeutic and hygiene

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT training program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care under RN direction in a safe, caring manner.
• Transcribes and enters physician orders; assists with admissions/discharges.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, wound care, and basic hygiene tasks.
• Transports patients, specimens, and lab orders; supports mobility and comfort.
