Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to provide clinical patient care support under the direction of a registered nurse in the fast-paced ED. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care, respiratory functions, and assisting with admissions and discharges in multiple hospital systems.

Responsibilities also cover patient mobility, hygiene, charting, and ensuring safety as you transport lab specimens and operate medical equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care support under RN direction in ED.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and wound care tasks.
• Admit/discharge patients in multiple computer systems.
• Transport patients and specimens as needed.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
