Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to support RN staff and care for patients in a fast-paced ED. This role includes clinical tasks, clerical duties, and patient transport to various hospital areas, under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, relevant clinical training, and BLS certification. Prior ED exposure is preferred and candidates must be able to work days on-site.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant / Medical Assistant / EMT program or Nursing Fundamentals course completed.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document intake, outputs, vital signs.
• Assist with mobility, hygiene, and daily needs.
• Transport patients, lab specimens, and equipment.
• Transcribe physician orders into hospital systems accurately.
• Assist RN/RT with procedures and setup sterile fields.
• Ensure patient safety and safety checks per policy.
