Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical in Macon, GA is seeking an ED Tech to support the clinical care team under RN/LPN supervision. You’ll assist with patient care activities and ensure safety and comfort across the age-specific population.

Ideal candidates hold EMT certification (Georgia or NREMT/Intermediate) or are nursing students with clinical rotations; BLS is required, and experience as a patient care or ER tech is acceptable in lieu of EMT.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia EMT Certification or NREMT/Intermediate Level certification required.
• Nursing student enrolled with at least 1 semester of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital required.
• In lieu of EMT license, 2 years of patient care tech or ER tech experience required.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Provide care to the age-specific population to which assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications
