Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical in Macon, GA is seeking an ED Tech to support the nursing team and assist in clinical patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role requires EMT/NCERT credentials or enrollment in an accredited nursing program with clinical rotations.

Applicants should have prior patient care tech or ER tech experience and be prepared to work in a fast-paced emergency setting with a focus on age-specific patient needs.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia EMT certification or NREMT/Intermediate certification required.
• Nursing student in accredited program with at least 1 semester of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital required.
• In lieu of EMT license, 2 years of patient care tech and/or ER tech experience required.

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech participates in clinical patient care with the health care team under the supervision of an RN or LPN.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care as assigned.

Education

Nursing student in accredited program with 1 semester of clinical rotations

1+ year patient care tech / ER tech experience in lieu of EMT license

Responsibilities

The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
