Job summary

Sky Lakes in Oregon is seeking an Emergency Dept Tech I to work Supplemental Varying Shifts in the Emergency Department. This on-site, part-time role supports nursing staff with patient care and essential clinical tasks in a fast-paced EA setting.

Requirements include one year of acute care hospital experience (ED preferred) or EMT background, valid EMT certification in Oregon, ability to speak English, legible handwriting, and high school diploma. BLS and basic EKG knowledge are also required.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably emergency department or one year pre-hospital experience as an EMT.
• Ability to speak English and have legible handwriting, knowledge of spelling, grammar and basic arithmetic.
• Skill in dealing with the public and telephone courtesy; and Skill in proper use of body mechanics.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as requested by the primary care nurse, including activities of daily living.
• Records accurate vital signs and assists nursing staff with patient information for care.
• Performs twelve lead EKG tracings per physician order.
• Assists with procedures and uses equipment under supervision.
• Maintains clean and safe patient treatment areas and supports confidentiality.
