Sky Lakes Medical Center Inc. is seeking a part-time RN for the Emergency Department in Oregon.

The selected nurse will maintain expertise in emergency nursing, assess patients, plan care, and collaborate with the care team to deliver timely, safe treatment. Responsibilities include supervising care tasks, ensuring protocol adherence, participating in discharge education, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Basic nursing skills; willingness to work varied hours with flexible schedules and every other weekend.
• Preferred: knowledge of psychosocial concepts; Emergency Services/Critical Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards and techniques and applies them per Sky Lakes policies and Oregon laws.
• Manages patient care in the ED, assesses conditions, plans care, and collaborates with the care team to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual needs.
• Assigns and supervises patient care tasks, evaluates outcomes, and communicates staffing needs based on acuity and nursing judgment.
• Ensures nursing care aligns with physician orders and department standards, and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Facilitates patient and family education for discharge planning and follow-up with case management or community services.
• Maintains knowledge of legal aspects of nursing and documents care within the RN scope; participates in meetings and staff orientation.
