Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an Emergency Department Tech I (PRN). The ED Tech will support nursing staff, assist with examinations, treatments, and daily care, and help ensure efficient ED operations and an exceptional patient experience.

Requires high school diploma or GED, NCA I or EMT training, and BLS certification. Candidates should be able to lift and move patients, work in a fast-paced environment, and participate in hazmat decontamination procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NCA I training as defined by NC Division of Facility Services or EMT training.
• Current BLS required.
• Related experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient examinations, treatments, procedures and daily care in the Emergency Department.
• Perform CPR and support hazmat decontamination procedures.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures; transport specimens as needed.
• Provide personal care and assist with ambulation and daily activities; help with meals and hygiene.
• Support ED operations and patient safety to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
