Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking an ER Registered Nurse to join the North Valleys Emergency Department. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with a comprehensive benefits package and a $7,500 sign-on for experienced ED RNs.

The ED treats a wide range of emergencies and requires coordination with ED physicians, triage skills, and prompt patient care. BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications are required within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License.
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR two to three years critical care exp OR extensive EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes, consulting with specialists as required.
• Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments for all age groups and reassess as per policy.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care and assigns triage categories.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets results.
• Assesses and reassesses pain and educates patients and families on pain management.
