Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Highlands in Sparta, TN is seeking nursing staff for the ED with Day and PRN shifts. The position supports patient care planning, coordination across disciplines, and discharge planning in a fast-paced emergency department.

Minimum requirements include nursing Diploma, Tennessee RN license via Compact state, and mandatory lifesaving certifications (ALS, BLS, PALS) within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Compact State Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
