Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Hickman in Centerville, TN seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to support the Emergency Department on a PRN night shift.

You will expertly evaluate patient conditions, prioritize care, implement life-saving interventions, coordinate the trauma team, and educate patients and families during stressful emergencies.

Requirements include a Tennessee RN license, BLS certification, and a nursing diploma; PRN nights with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed RN in Tennessee or eligible for compact-state licensure.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent licensure.
• Experience in emergency/acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient conditions to prioritize care and implement life‑saving interventions in a high‑acuity ED.
• Carry out physician orders precisely and monitor patient stability.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary trauma and emergency teams to ensure seamless, well‑timed care.
• Provide clear, empathetic education and support to patients and families navigating emergencies.
• Coordinate urgent diagnostic testing and facilitate admissions or discharges to maintain optimal department flow.
