Job summary

Mercy St. Louis Emergency Department is seeking candidates for a Graduate Nurse Residency – a 16‑week program designed to transition new grads to professional practice. This full‑time night program runs three 12‑hour shifts (07am–07pm) with upcoming start dates in January 2027 and June 2027.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current RN license (state or compact) within hire date.
• BLS certification required or completed within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast‑paced ED.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Education:• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Licensure:• Must obtain/maintain a current RN license (state or compact)• Must meet all state Board of Nursing requirements
• Certifications:• BLS (AHA) required — or completed within 30 days of hire
