Job summary

Olathe Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech or Certified Nursing Assistant for the Emergency Department on night shifts at Olathe Hospital. The role supports nursing staff, assists with patient care in a fast-paced ED, and helps maintain room readiness and patient flow.

Key duties include vitals, specimens, basic procedures, and ensuring patient safety with compassionate service. Relevant CNA credentials and nursing coursework are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a High School graduate or GED.
• CNA license or completion of Gold Standard Intern Program.
• Documentation of fundamentals of nursing courses.
• Minimum of 18 months in a patient care role.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow by preparing rooms, transferring patients, and assisting with transport.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment; perform infection control; report equipment issues; restock supplies.
• Assist RN/Physician with procedures and patient care tasks as directed (e.g., casting, wound care, phlebotomy support).
• Make rounds on patients and respond to call lights promptly with excellent customer service.
• Document vitals, specimens, and changes in patient condition to the RN and chart accordingly.
