Job summary

Olathe Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech or Certified Nurse Aide for inpatient units. This part-time night position requires two 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with at least two weekdays and one weekend per month.

Duties span direct patient care and unit support under nurse supervision, with data entry and routine clerical tasks. Responsibilities include patient rounds, vital signs, specimen handling, and collaboration with RN/physician to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required or you may be currently enrolled in a high school or GED program.
• Hold a CNA license or have completed the Gold Standard Intern Program.
• Have documentation of fundamentals of nursing courses.
• Have a minimum of 18 months in a relevant patient care role.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties to prepare for admission, transfers and discharges including securing IV pump, zeroing bed, updating white board.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and proper infection control practices.
• Accurately documents vital signs, intake/output, and transports specimens as indicated.
• Responds to call lights promptly and communicates with nurses and unit staff.
• Operates computer systems for data entry and charges as appropriate.
• Assists RN/Physician with patient care duties and supports unit operations.
