Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a dedicated CNA to support Emergency Department patients and families from arrival to discharge. You will work under the supervision of professional staff, performing direct patient care, ADL assistance, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Current Rhode Island CNA registration.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to provide care to patients throughout Brown University Health, with compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Collaborates with RNs to set priorities and organize care.
• Communicates observations to the Registered Nurse.
• Administers direct care and assists with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Monitors IV flow and signs of infiltration or phlebitis.
• Performs selected procedures and treatments per standards.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and advocates for patients/families.
