Job summary

Allina Health in Minnesota seeks an Emergency Department Technician to provide rapid medical support in high-stress situations. You will perform phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, dressing changes and patient comfort under RN supervision.

You will assist with rooming, transport, equipment setup, and contribute to safety and quality improvement initiatives. Relevant certifications and a willingness to work flexible shifts are required.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age with education/experience meeting required functional competencies
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent for i-STAT testing positions
• 1+ experience in acute health care setting
• 1+ experience in basic arrhythmia and EKG interpretation
• Licensure/certification requirements including EMT/ CNA / BLS as applicable

Responsibilities

• Independently performs patient care within scope, including equipment setup, phlebotomy, EKG, wound care and charting.
• Under RN direction, assists with wound dressings, oxygen, procedures, transfers and patient comfort.
• Contributes to a safe environment, adheres to policies, reports hazards and participates in quality improvement.
• May support administrative and training duties, such as processing orders and stocking supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
