Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Emergency Department seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support patient care during a 12-hour night shift. You will assist with daily living activities, take vital signs, and document in the EMR. Communicate health concerns to nurses and help with patient hygiene and mobility as needed.

Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, provide strong customer service, and follow instructions precisely. Onsite location at 267 Charles Street, Boston.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic preferred.
• Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Routinely takes vital signs and records intake/output accurately.
• Documents all care in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and families in a respectful manner.
• Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Assists with turning, repositioning, and transferring patients as needed.

It spans the ground floor of 3 buildings and is divided into several areas, including pediatric and psychiatric areas.Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions-Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.-Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.-Interacts with patients and their families effectively.-Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
