Job summary

Northwell Health in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform basic nursing tasks, including phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, point of care testing and 1:1 observation. You will maintain department order, assist with patient care, and support department operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include patient transport, vital signs, specimen collection, disaster procedure familiarity, and reporting to the next shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completed Nursing Assistant course or at least 6 months hospital/Nursing Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department areas in a neat, orderly fashion.
• Restock supplies as needed.
• Transport patients between areas.
• Assist with patient care including vital signs, post-mortem care, phlebotomy, specimen collection, 12-lead EKG, disaster procedures, and feeding assistance.
• Provide 1:1 observation of patients.
• Run department errands (pharmacy, medical records, central supply).
• Give report to the next shift.
• Know the Emergency Department policy & procedures related to disasters.
• Act as a female chaperone for GYN examinations as assigned.
