Job summary

Northwell-GoHealth Urgent Care seeks a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations across NYC, Long Island and Westchester. You will assist in examinations, perform vital signs, and manage front-desk tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role includes point-of-care testing, specimen preparation, and coordination with providers. A high school diploma and MA program completion are preferred; BLS is required at hire. Hourly pay and incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance information.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and update them on status.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform preliminary vital signs and escalate as needed.
• Conduct point of care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception areas.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts into files.
• Answer calls and manage daily correspondence.
• Perform opening/closing duties and secure the building.
• Follow daily QA/QC and equipment maintenance procedures.
