Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Holmdel, NJ is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department to lead evidence-based nursing practices and ensure patient-centered care on a full-time Day shift.

The role requires nursing leadership experience, NJ RN license, BLS, and magnet certification preference; BSN preferred; will oversee staffing, budgeting, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years recent Emergency nursing experience.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required.
• AHA Basic Life Support HCP Certification required.
• National Certification acceptable to Magnet within two years of hire preferred.
• MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices according to evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Communicate ongoing patient status and treatment plans with healthcare team members.
• Ensure optimal patient satisfaction and care experience.
• Administer and titrate medications using clinical documentation technology.
• Provide patient and family-centered care for health and wellness management.
• Collaborate interdisciplinary to manage patient care plans from admission to discharge.
• Oversee unit operations, including scheduling, payroll, and budget needs.
• Take patient assignments as needed to accommodate unit requirements.
• Perform tasks delegated by the Nurse Manager, including education and mentoring.
• Fill in for the Nurse Manager in their absence, understanding policies and procedures.

Education

Associate in Nursing or Diploma of Nursing

BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire
