Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health invites applications for a Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department of Hoke Hospital, Raeford, NC. The role emphasizes quality patient care through effective resource use and maintaining staffing systems that support staff performance.

Flexible shifts include nights, weekends and holidays, with relocation assistance available. Licensing as an NC RN or Compact State is required, along with an associate degree in nursing. A BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• RN license in North Carolina or a Compact State.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily patient assignments.
• Rounds with the physicians.
• Serve as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretaries.
• Assists with procedures, checks orders.
• Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit.
• Evaluates daily patient acuity.
• Focuses on patient flow and expediting patient flow.
• Responsible for the oversight of quality of patient care.
• Assists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor.
• Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning.
• Expedites testing, admission and discharges.
• Implements process as defined by HIP.
