Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department in Raeford, North Carolina. The role involves coordinating patient care during nights, directing daily assignments, and ensuring smooth patient flow. Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in North Carolina or Compact State.
• 3 years of related clinical experience preferred; 1 year in leadership role or demonstrates strong leadership skills preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily patient assignments.
• Rounds with the physicians.
• Serve as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretaries.
• Assists with procedures, checks orders.
• Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit.
• Evaluates daily patient acuity.
• Focuses on patient flow and expediting patient flow.
• Responsible for oversight of quality of patient care.
• Assists with clinical education of staff in absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor.
• Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning.
• Expected to take patient assignments when other staffing options exhausted.
• Expedites testing, admission and discharges.
• Implements processes as defined by HIP.
