Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

The EMT will collect data, perform task-specific functions, and assist in procedures while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality. Requires EMT or EMT-P certification and BLS certification, with high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification issued by AHA.
• EMT or EMT-P certification (CNA license considered).

Responsibilities

• Operate computer programs for orders, charges, and logs.
• Assist RN/physician in clinical care and procedures as directed.
• Deliver basic patient care within scope of practice and monitor patient condition.
• Transcribe physician orders and document vital signs and observations.
• Transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher and assist with discharge.
