Job summary

AHMC HealthCare is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide basic patient care, assist with procedures, transport patients between departments, and maintain ED equipment and supplies under the supervision of licensed staff in Riverside, CA. The role requires accurate vital sign assessment and timely reporting of abnormal readings to the nurse or physician assistant.

Certification as EMT-1 in California, BLS Level C, and at least 1 year of acute care or pre-hospital care experience

Qualifications

• Certification as an EMT-1 in California and BLS Level C.
• Minimum 1 year experience in acute care or pre-hospital care, preferably in emergency care.
• Management of assaultive behavior certificate.

Job description

Provides basic patient care, assists with procedures, transports patients interdepartmentally, and maintains equipment and supplies in the Emergency Department. The technician works under the direction of the licensed nurse, physician assistant, or physician.

Accurately obtains and records vital signs and reports abnormal readings to the licensed nurse or physician assistant in a timely manner.

Certification as an EMT-1 in the State of California. Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider). At least one (1) year experience in an acute care facility and/or pre‑hospital care, preferably in an emergency care setting. Management of assaultive behavior certificate.
