Job summary

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is seeking a CNA/Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct patient care under RN/Physician supervision and handle clerical, reception, and telemetry tasks to support efficient ED operations.

Requirements include a CNA certification, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS. ED experience is preferred, with strong communication and confidentiality skills essential for exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CNA certification is required.
• Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) Certification.
• Emergency Department experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician in the Emergency Department within the scope of practice as determined by competency verification.
• Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned unit.
• Facilitates a smooth-running unit by performing clerical, reception, computer entry/processing, telemetry monitoring, and organizational duties.
