Job summary

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center in Bandon, OR seeks a CNA/Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department. This full-time role provides direct patient care under RN/Physician supervision and handles clerical, reception, and telemetry duties to keep the ED running smoothly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CNA certification, and BLS; ED experience is preferred. Excellent communication, confidentiality, and computer skills (MS Office) are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current certification as a CNA required.
• Have and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and online software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Facilitate a smooth-running unit by performing clerical, reception, computer entry, and telemetry monitoring tasks.
• Report to the ED Nurse Manager and adhere to hospital standards of care.
• Demonstrate flexibility to changing systems while maintaining quality and respectful interactions.
