We are a fast-paced Level 2 Trauma facility seeking a team-oriented Emergency Department Technician for our day shift. The position offers a self-scheduling system with weekend commitments.
The Emergency Department Technician provides direct patient care by assisting professional staff, physicians, and department leadership to deliver patient-centered care. Responsibilities include meeting patient comfort and hygiene needs such as bathing, oral hygiene, hair care, bedpan/urinal use, skin care, and changing garments, linens, and bedding. The technician also distributes meals and beverages, takes vital signs, and collects lab specimens.
Required: High School Diploma plus relevant training through work experience or education.
Preferred: 1-2 years of related experience.
Required: BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred: Licensed EMT Paramedic or EMT-Basic in the State of Illinois; completion of an Illinois Department of Health program (CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P) with verification, or equivalent nursing-focused education.
Salary Range: $16.70 - $25.53 per hour
Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparison to similar roles.
