Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for weekend-only 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. shifts. This part-time role includes premium pay for WOW weekend shifts and supports a high‑volume, accredited ED.

The ED handles 160+ patients daily and is a STEMI receiving center and Primary Stroke Center. Indiana nursing licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and NIHSS are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• PALS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for ED patients on shift.
• Serve as an on-shift team member to meet patient, family and coworker needs.
• Support families and coworkers in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Uphold ED standards in a STEMI/Stroke Center designated department.

The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. **About the Unit:**The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. Split flow varies from 5-8 patients and is run by 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider. This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.
