Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a part-time basis (24 hours/week). The role covers day shifts (9am-9pm) with every 4th weekend on schedule.

The RN provides direct comprehensive care on the ED team, collaborating with patients, families, and colleagues to meet urgent healthcare needs in a fast-paced setting recognized for STEMI and stroke readiness.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN license or eligible compact state license.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS certification required (within 12 months of hire).
• PALS certification required (within 12 months of hire).
• NIHSS certification required (within 10 weeks of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for ED patients, families and staff on shift.

Job Duties

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit

The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. Split flow varies from 5-8 patients and is run by 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider. This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center. New Graduate RNs are welcome.

Qualifications
