Job summary

Hancock Health in Indiana is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist nurses and physicians with patient care in a fast-paced ED. Responsibilities include vital signs collection, EKGs, wound care, catheterization support, and patient transport under RN supervision.

Required high school diploma; CPR certification is essential. EMT or Paramedic training is preferred, with opportunities to participate in patient triage and collaborate with the ED team.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required and must be current.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• EMT or Paramedic training is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents care consistent with hospital policies.
• Gathers vital signs (temp, pulse, resp, BP) and reports to RN/MD.
• Attaches patient to cardiac monitor and performs 12-lead EKG.
• Performs venipuncture for blood draws and saline lock under RN supervision.
• Assists with wound care, casts, dressings, and patient transport as needed.
• Assists with patient triage and keeps ED area safe and clean.
