Job summary

Independence Health System Emergency Department is seeking an Emergency Care Tech to assist in the safe care of patients and maintain efficient ED operations. You will support with patient care tasks and ensure seamless transitions between equipment such as moving from portable to wall oxygen when required.

The role requires a High School Diploma, phlebotomy training, and CPR certification. Additional duties include handling medications and sharps with safety protocols and completing on-the-job

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training or equivalent required.
• Act 33/73 clearances and Healthcare Provider CPR required.
• Experience as unit secretary or nursing assistant in an ED preferred.
• On-the-job phlebotomy training may be required if not trained on hire; EKG training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe care of patients and support ED unit operations.
• Maintain safe, efficient unit operations with excellent customer service.
• Change patient oxygen from portable to wall oxygen as directed.
• Safely access, transport, and handle medications, including sharps.
