Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team with patient care, transport and essential procedures.

The role involves assisting with EKGs, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and communicating changes in patient condition to the nurse team. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies with an RN and transports patient to the ED.
• Performs clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Performs EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and collects/sends specimens.
• Performs quality control checks as appropriate.
• Communicates new orders and changes in patient condition to the unit team.
• Restocks unit supplies and assists with patient care tasks as directed.
