Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support inpatient and outpatient ED teams. The role focuses on lab draws, EKGs, and assisting nurses and doctors to deliver high-quality patient care.

The part-time position (24hrs weekly) runs Mon/Wed/Fri 11a–7p. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, <1 year clinical experience, and EMT-B certification (or approved Military Hospital Corps/advanced clinical program). Prior Sentara ED tech experience within 2 years may be considered.

Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) with Sentara, you can work in either inpatient or outpatient Emergency Department settings. This role is a great gateway to begin your career in the medical field. This position’s primary responsibilities include lab draws, EKGs, and assisting the nurses and doctors with patient care. Job Requirements

• Required: High School Grad Diploma or Equivalent
• Required: Clinical experience - <1 year
• Required: EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR current students enrolled in an advanced clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).

Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
